Equipment Every Home Gym Must Have

If you are looking for equipment for a home gym and can’t decide on what to buy, then you’ve come to the right place. Usually, the problem that most people have when trying to find equipment for their home gym is figuring out what their goals are and how they can achieve them. The best way to figure this out is to first have a plan. Once you made your plan, you can focus on the equipment you will need to achieve your goal. But, there is some equipment every home gym must have, regardless of your goal or fitness level.

Dumbbells

We all know that dumbbells are an essential part of building up our muscle mass. I tend to like buying dumbbells by size rather than by weight since I tend to lose a lot of weight very quickly (I usually lose 10 pounds or so in a month). That’s why dumbbells are at the bottom of my list of equipment for working out. I like to mix it up by using different sizes of dumbbells. Also, you can usually buy dumbbells pre-loaded in the form of weights or you can have a dumbbell set where you load the weights on dumbbells and go from there. In my opinion, the most common mistake people make with dumbbell workouts is overloading them with sets that don’t use many muscles. The key is to break each set down into two to three exercises, and then repeat those two to three exercises. Don’t do more than twenty reps with each set.

Kettlebells

Kettlebells have got a ton of advantages. For example, they are a perfect exercise tool to work out abs. You can use them to build up your core strength, which will, of course, benefit other activities, like running. If you haven’t been using kettlebells for exercise before, then this is why you should start right away, because they are one of the best workouts out there!

Another great thing about using kettlebells is that they can be used with a variety of exercises. For example, you can get a workout with single-handed kettlebell swings, double-handed kettlebell swings, and single-handed kettlebell jerks. If you want to work out your whole body with these great tools, then you’ve got to make sure that you use multiple sets, reps, and movements. This way, you will be training your entire body, rather than focusing on one area of it.

One of the most important parts of working out with kettlebells is kettlebells grip development. Grip development is crucial because you’re using two objects that are not meant to be used with each other. That being said, your grip must allow for easy movement, while letting you get optimal strength with each swing. To do this, you will need a kettlebell that has a coating on the handle, so that the weight on the handle never becomes too much for your hands.

Jump Rope

Jump ropes are one of my favorite equipment for working out. They add another element to get your cardio in while also working the muscles in your legs. There are many different jump rope exercises you can do to work different parts of your body. Just get a jump rope and do a few sets with it, then do some more. Also, I like jump ropes that have multiple bars so that you can do different things. For example, you can pull the bar to your hip or bring it down to your knee.

Machines

I don’t really think that any equipment is a necessity for working out. We all have our own bodies that are making us work. But if you don’t have some kind of machine for your machines, you are just working out on your stomach, or on your elbows. Also, machines usually have weight resistance on them, so you won’t be using much of your body to do it.

Exercise balls

You might be surprised at how useful exercise balls are. They can be used for abs, biceps curls, tricep dips, bench presses, shoulder presses, calf raises, squats, lunges, and more. I think they are great for building up your upper body as well.

To sum up…

It might sound complicated, but you don’t have to have fancy equipment to build a good home gym workout. In fact, even the free weights can be considered equipment for a home gym workout. I suggest that you start out with dumbbells, then when you feel more comfortable, get a barbell or bench press. Whatever you choose, make sure that your form is perfect when doing it. And remember, you don’t need expensive equipment to make your home gym workout worthwhile.
