“Reach For Your Dreams”
C-5 Meets C-5
Captain Joe Jakub and his “CrimeFighter Corvette” recently visited the 433rd Airlift Wing at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas (Where Capt. Joe did his Air Force Basic Training many years ago) and had the opportunity to thank the men and women of the United States Air Force for all they do for us, mainly preserving our freedom here in the USA. Much to his surprise they introduced him to the largest United States Military Aircraft that is used to move everything conceivable to the hot spots in the world where our troops are fighting. The big surprise was that this aircraft is known as the gigantic “C-5” Galaxy. Captain Joe’s C-5 Corvette was no match for the Air Force’s C-5.
The C-5 Galaxy has 12 internal fuel tanks that carry a grand total of 51,150 Gallons of fuel. A little more than Capt. Joe’s C-5. The Galaxy can travel at 518 miles per hour which again has Capt. Joe’s NOS powered C-5 beat. The Galaxy has a range of 6,320 nautical miles, weighs 769,000 lbs and has a base sticker price of $184.2 Million Dollars. Now all that is just a little bit more than the C-5 CrimeFighter Corvette. Oh, by the way the C-5 Galaxy can also accommodate up to 365 people if they would like to fly the friendly skies, no the unfriendly skies where these men and women are flying. I guess you can’t consider this C-5 Galaxy an American sports car like the Corvette, can you?
To our Prevention Partners and Friends:
The U.S. 56th Presidential Inaugural Committee announced today that out of the some record 1300 plus Inaugural Parade entries the “CrimeFighter Corvette” and Capt. Joe Jakub were selected to participate in the upcoming Presidential Inaugural Parade on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 in Washington, D.C. They advised that the honor of being selected for the third consecutive time in a row (2001, 2005, 2009) for a Presidential Inaugural is extremely rare and was also informed that we were the only unit selected to represent the state of Kentucky. Part of the reason for the selection was our organization’s message is crystal clear, and that is we are striving for a Drug Free America. Our “Reach for your Dreams” anti-drug and anti-violence program is moving us in that direction. Our RFYD flagship vehicle, the “CrimeFighter Corvette” proudly wears the symbol of our great nation, the American Flag, on its sides and speaks directly to the drug culture issue. We are truly honored and proud to receive this honor on behalf of the State of Kentucky and all anti-drug programs in our country.
